DLA Aviation is requesting industry input into the feasibility of the government’s requirements for refurbishment as follows: Furnace salt composition shall be 50/50 sodium nitrate/potassium nitrate Remove and replace inner furnace tank. Tank as follows: Low Carbon Steel, 66 inches wide by 153 inches long by ¾ inch thickness Replace firebrick/insulating material between new inner tank and existing outer tank Replace natural gas fired burners and burner tubes sized for the above tank. Repair or replace tank lid. Replace gas control system to meet applicable NFPA and OSHA codes. Replace process controls and thermocouples as required to meet AMS 2750.
