The 436 MDG laboratory at Dover AFB current function is being performed with the Siemens EXL 200 analyzer that used reagents for general chemistry blood tests and ligand/hormone blood tests. The Siemens EXL 200 analyzer unit currently have interop capabilities to communicate with Military Health System Genesis and Approved Authorized to Operate (ATO) on Dover AFB Network. Changing instrumentation would lead to months of analyte validations, MHSG test files builds under current DHA ticket system to be migrate that would take 12-18 months under the Go-live tempo/CCETS updates which does not include the back log of laboratories across the DOD that already have tickets in waiting on builds. This would force the laboratory to manually enter all patient results for chemistry, double verify all patient results before they are re-certified, which could lead to countless clerical errors and a patient safety nightmare. Siemens Healthcare, Inc., is the only available source for the Siemens EXL 200 Analyzer required by the 436 MDG laboratory at Dover AFB and is Authorized to Operate (ATO) on Dover network system. Siemens Healthcare, Inc., 511 Benedict Ave, Tarrytown, New York, 10591-5005 is the authorized seller of the Siemens EXL 200 Analyzer.
