This procurement is two new servers allowing for the processing and storage of genomic data and is compatible with existing computing hardware managed by OAMD SCBS. Dell PowerEdge R660xs With Intel Xeon Gold 5420 Server is a newer version of equipment in use by OAMD. Familiarity with the system and interchangeability of certain components are factors in the technical support and assistance of OAMD and thus factors in product selection. The new hardware will be placed in AIP server room to enhance local compute resources. Purchase of Dell rack servers is a brand name requirement for this purchase requisition. Hardware commonality with the OAMD SCBS HPC cluster that uses Dell compatible solutions will ensure the highest levels of compatibility, interoperability, ease of repair, maintenance, and support from OAMD.
