## Description

This is a public notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 – Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions.

The Library of Congress, Contracts and Grants Directorate, intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Thermo Electron North America, LLC. The Period of Performance of the intended contract shall run for 1 base year and two option years and it is value at an amount below the simplified acquisition threshold (defined as $250,000 and below), but above $25,000 (the public notice threshold).

The work shall consist of a comprehensive service support agreement for the Thermo Nicolet iS50 Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectrometer (serial # AUP1500097) and Thermo Nicolet iN10 MX FTIR Microscope (serial # ALK1811786) and its accessories. The service support agreement includes an unlimited number of repairs, replacement of failed parts, and recalibrations, as well as covering the cost of all parts, labor, and shipping.

This announcement constitutes the only public notice, proposals are not being requested from other parties and a written solicitation will not be issued. This public notice accomplishes the following:

1. Notice of the Library's intent to sole source to Thermo Electron North America, LLC.

2. Synopsizing the requirements in accordance with the FAR; and 3. Publically posting the approved Justification and Approval (J&A) to the public in advance of contract award. The following attachments are included in this notice:
