## Description

SCOPE OF WORK SHEM and OSHA require guard rails on roof tops where work is performed in areas with a fall risk. Guard rails shall be put into place along the roof edge near any equipment within 10 feet of the roof edge without a parapet at least 4’ high. No roof penetrations will be used, and nothing attached to the building structure. Scope only includes the procurement of the required safety equipment on the roofs.

The railing system installed will be a modular design and be able to easily raise and lower the railings without tools or special knowledge. The finish is to be corrosion resistant, such as stainless steel, galvanized, or exterior grade powder coat. Railing are to use weighted feet/anchors, no roof penetrations required.

Guardrail systems shall be capable of withstanding, without failure, a force of at least 200 pounds (890 N) applied within 2 inches (5.1 cm) of the top edge, in any outward or downward direction, at any point along the top edge. Rails Must meet all international health, safety, environmental (HSE) standards and HSG-33, and meet OSHA 1926.501(B)(1) guidelines.
