## Description

The Embassy of the United States of America in Lisbon, Portugal, intends to issue a solicitation (RFQ-Request for Quotation) for professional lighting services to prepare a lighting study at the Manor House in Lisbon, Portugal. The Manor House in the US Embassy of Lisbon, is listed on the Secretary of State’s Register of Culturally Significant Property as it retains a high degree of historic and architectural integrity with an important diplomatic history.

The objective of the lighting study is to document current overall (1st, 2nd and 3rd floor) lighting conditions and provide recommendations and cost estimates for improving the lighting conditions in the mentioned spaces.

Proposed improvements shall align with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Preservation, will provide non-destructive solutions to solving the current precarious lighting conditions, and are subject to review and approval by the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations, Office of Cultural Heritage.

The existing fixtures within the spaces in question are not original to the historic interiors; the Contractor shall identify more discreet, strategic, and sensitive alternatives to enhancing the lighting program within these spaces that complements their historic configuration and considers their decorative finishes. The SOW includes coordination with the USG, direct observation, documentation, photographic/graphic illustrations, lighting level recordings for the three areas if interest.

Reports shall be writing in English. Please note that this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. This solicitation will be issued via e-mail to prospective offerors based on their written request to LisbonProcure@state.gov. Only contractors specializing in this field of work should apply for a solicitation package.
