DESCRIPTION: The purpose of the proposed project is to provide sustainable vehicular access along the State Route (SR) 410 corridor within Mount Rainier National Park (MORA or Park) and also to maintain this critical highway connection with the state highway system adjacent to the park by taking interim measures to prevent loss of the road corridor at specific locations. The objectives for the project include incorporating preliminary (pre-NEPA) project planning and early outreach and using best available information to complete NEPA impact analysis and documentation. The tasks shall include the following: 1. Preparation of a draft EA and appendices for agency review. 2. Preparation of a final EA and appendices for public review and comment. 3. Preparing a draft and final biological assessment to support formal consultation with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) to meet the requirements of the Endangered Species Act. 4.
