Work consists of: Installing a 60ft x 60ft x 8ft high chain link fence with a 24ft double gate and 4ft personnel gate. The fencing material will be supplied by the NPS, and the contractor will need to supply the concrete and labor to install the fence. Install the government, furnished material to construct a 60-foot x 60-foot X 8-foot chain link fence around the perimeter of a storage area. This will include two gate locations, a 24¿ wide double gate and a 4¿ wide personnel gate. Contractor will work with COR for final alignment of fence. Fence is to be constructed to the standards of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Chain Link Fence Manufactures Institute (CLFMI). Fence is to be straight and square with ability to withstand 70-mile an hour wind load from all directions. The government will provide all the fencing materials required to complete this project. Contractor is responsible to locate underground utilities \"Kansas 811\". Set posts plumb, and straight, fill remaining hole with 4500 PSI pre-mixed concrete. Mixing of the concrete in the hole will not be permitted. Secure posts until concrete is set and firm to perform the remaining installation to described standards. Install gates and associated hardware securing to appropriate standards listed above. Fence is to be installed following the grade of the area, with bottom fence set 1-inch above final grade. Install tension wire around entire perimeter bottom to ensure security. Inspect operations of the gates after stretching fence mesh and adjust accordingly to ensure smooth operations. Remove temporary supports and level all displaced dirt to the immediate surroundings. Clean work site and remove all waste including waste associated with the government furnished materials. No work may be performed on the last week of July or the first week of August. SOLICITATION NUMBER: 140P6024Q0024 PROJECT MAGNITUDE: Less than $25,000 TYPE OF CONTRACT: If awarded, this will be a firm fixed price contract, expected to be awarded to a prime contractor by late spring/early summer 2024 with performance to begin within 30 days of award/10 days of Notice to Proceed. Construction Wage Rate Requirements for Graham, County, KS will apply. Reminder that all amendments must be acknowledged by the due date and time of quotes. Q1. 60x60 = 240 - 28 feet of gate = 212. My math brings the total footage to 212 not 210. This brings quantities out of balance. I can over stretch the chain-link to accommodate the shortage but ordering the correct amount would be preferred. A1: See A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 below. Q2. 11 sticks of top rail not 10 (they are 21 feet in length). Industry best practices is not to put a 3 foot piece of rail at the end. A2: See A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 below. Q3. Sleeves at 6 required not 10 (saves 4). A3: See A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 below. Q4. Line posts at 17 not 19 (saves 2 posts). Industry standard is max 10' o/c spacing. A4: See A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 below. Q5. The tension wire was called out in pounds. Did this include the extra footage needed to make the termination wraps? We typically order by the footage required. A5: See A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 below. Regarding material differences between what is listed in the A06 Specs.pdf document and what each quoter believes is required, quoters shall review the material list and document any missing or additional materials needed to install the chain link fence to the standards described in the solicitation documents. Identify this information in your response to the solicitation including associated pricing. All work shall comply with the solicitation and all solicitation documents. If a contract is awarded, it will be awarded as a firm fixed price contract. Q6. There was no gate hardware listed, does the supplier automatically include them? A6: Only the gate hardware specified in the A06 Specs.pdf document is included. If you believe additional or substitutions are needed, then include that with your quote. Q7: Page 7 of the Project Specification mentions at \"D. Period of performance: Work shall be completed within 60 calendar days of the start date provided on the Notice to Proceed\". But on page 8 of the RFQ Solicitation it says, \"complete the entire work ready for use not later than 30 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed\". Which is correct, 60 days or 30 days? A7: 60 days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Q8. On page 21 of the Specification sheet, the last entry says \"(2) 12' x 8' SLIDE GATES\". Can you clarify what is meant by slide gate? I'm not clear as to what that means. If you're looking for a cantilever gate, two would not be needed. If it is another type, I need more info as to what you have type in mind. A8: There are two gate panels each 12-foot by 8-foot. Instead of having hardware that creates a pivot point (hinge) at the anchor post, this has rails that with rollers attached to the gate allowing the gate to slide open instead of swinging open. Q9. Concrete embedment of corner and gate posts at only 11 inches. Terminal posts are set 1 inch high to accommodate the post cap. At a minimum, the 3 gate posts should be full depth preferably all terminals. A9: Government awaiting clarification from the asker of the question.
