## Description

This is a notice of intent to solicit from a single source The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), intends to award a purchase order with UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research in Incline Village, NV for Algal Lake and Raw composite samples described in the attached Statement of Work. Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) and the procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 entitled, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research is, to the USGS knowledge, the only source who has unique qualifications to perform the analysis based ongoing monitoring activities for the same nutrients on the Lake (different locations) and the need for low-level nutrient analysis that cannot be performed by the USGS. Our study will add additional lake samples that will apply the same QA/QC procedures and methods.

Also, given that UC-Davis already has samples from Lake Tahoe and collaborates with USGS on analysis of water samples, they have unique skillsets and methods to ensure quality control procedures are consistent with data collected and reported by the USGS. The purpose of this notice is to satisfy the requirements of FAR Subpart 5.2. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes.

However, all responsible parties may submit a capability statement by the closing date of this announcement which shall be considered by the agency. No solicitation will be issued. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. The NAICS code for this action is 541990 All Other Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services with the associated standard size of $19.5 million. Please no phone calls.
