There will be no written solicitation issued. This is an intent to purchase a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). This will be a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) contract utilizing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures The requirement is to purchase the following urgent specialized service: The contractor will be providing four (4) diesel-powered semi-tractors with four drivers, capable of pulling fish transport trailers (5,000 gallon tankers). Each unit will be loaded with live fish and water gross vehicle weights of 80,000 pounds. The trucks & trailers will be loaded with fall run Chinook salmon at Coleman NFH in Anderson, CA and be transported for release into San Francisco Bay at San Rafael, CA ( 400 miles round trip). Due to the stakeholder interest, high profile for this urgent requirement, and the vendors experience, there is only one responsible source and no other supplier will satisfy the agency requirement at this time.
