This requirement will utilize a base period of one year and three one-year option periods. ***** Sole source determination is based on the need for a service and maintenance contract for a Panalytical Empyrean X-ray powder diffractometer and associated components to ensure uninterrupted performance within the manufacturers’ specifications. The Contractor shall provide preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, phone support for hardware, software, and applications with onsite services being available within 48-hours of notification during normal business hours. The Contractor shall provide these services using original equipment manufacturer (OEM) authorized service engineers and repair parts. The Empyrean XRD instrument is a unique piece of equipment and Malvern Panalytical is the only company to provide the required authorized service engineers and repair parts to maintain and service the above stated equipment. There are no authorized resellers that are certified to service or maintain the above stated equipment. Therefore, the requirement shall be purchased directly through Malvern Panalytical. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811310 – Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a small business size standard of $12.5 million. ****** A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
