Recent inspections conducted in late 2024 and a subsequent Load Rating Analysis in January 2025 have identified structural deficiencies governed by the deterioration of bearing piles. Specifically, over sixty (60) timber piles are currently \"non-bearing\" or \"partially bearing,\" exhibiting gaps between the top of the pile and the timber pile cap. These gaps range from hairline to approximately 3 inches. The purpose of the requirement is to obtain services of a Design-Build Contractor to restore the vertical load path of the pier by shimming all piles currently not in contact with the substructure.
