Statewide production budgets are only created by the land-grant institution in each state. These contracts are not competed because only one institution in the state has the faculty and ability to update the budgets. University extension offices already produce sample production budgets for producers and RMA is requesting specific budgets for specific crops. In addition, university extension offices already have the localized expertise and contacts with which to provide the information needed. Mississippi State University is the only responsible source. Statewide production budgets are only created by the land-grant institution in each state. These agreements are not competed because only one institution in the state has the faculty and ability to update the budgets. University extension offices already produce sample production budgets for producers and RMA is requesting specific budgets for specific crops.
