Such tests need to demonstrate consistent, reproducible, and reliable results over a range of animal species and sample types. Diagnostic tests are essential to verify the health status of animals and facilitate the safe movement of live animals and their commodities through both domestic and international commerce. USDA seeks information for Foreign Animal Disease (FAD) diagnostics products for Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD). USDA intends to use this information to augment our database of available and near market solutions. Information gathered through the sources sought notice will be analyzed to determine whether it would be appropriate and feasible to include additional test kits and their components in the National Animal Vaccine and Veterinary Countermeasures Bank (NAVVCB). There is no solicitation currently. This is only a source’s sought notice for market research purposes; responses will be used to determine whether this requirement may be set-aside for small business or procured through full and open competition. Please note that preference will be given to domestic sources in any future solicitations.
