## Description

Delta V Advantage Isotope Ratio (IRMS) Mass Spectrometer System s/n 08075D GENERAL INFORMATION Scope of Work: Contractor will provide factory trained and currently OEM certified engineers to perform this service visit on the Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer located at 1015 N University Blvd. Ames, Iowa. Covered components will include:

Delta V Advantage IRMS s/n 08075D Linked Elemental Analyzer (EA)

**Flash 2000 Linked GasBench II 2.0 Background:** Computer upgrade and service for this instrument is being purchased. The operating system is old and needs upgraded. The IRMS has been off for several years and is requiring calibration, tuning, cleaning, etc. to bring the instrument back in to normal operating specifications in support of NLAE research mission.

**CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS 3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:** Service tasks include, but are not limited to:

Upgrade the IRMS software to a new computer (USDA will supply the computer) which has a Windows 10 operating system, 64-bit. Isodat software will be migrated to the new computer. Eager Xperience software will be migrated to the new computer. Peripheral devices will be migrated to the new computer. IRMS will be serviced to meet OEM operating specifications or as close to installation specifications as possible. This may include but is not limited to the following:

Adjusting capillaries in the Conflo III Adjusting or resetting capillaries at the IRMS introduction interface Calibrating the system Cleaning the system Tuning the system Ensuring operational sensitivity. Ensuring operational precision for isotope ratios of carbon and nitrogen of an external acetanilide standard. Eliminate any leaks in the system. The main peripheral device linked to the IRMS is the Flash 2000 EA. The linked system will properly communicate with the computer.

The Flash EA will properly deliver sample to the IRMS. If time allows the GasBench II capillaries will be inspected and repaired. If time permits the GasBench II will be linked to the IRMS and operating at OEM specifications. This service request does not include any parts.

**4.0 Government Furnished:** Government will supply the replacement computer (Dell OptiPlex 7010 Tower Plus with OS Windows 10 Pro). The existing PCI communications card will be used. Two USB-to-serial adapters to connect the peripheral devices will be provided. Access to the equipment in the NLAE facility, replacement parts not otherwise covered under this agreement, AC power and standard office lighting.

**5.0 Deliverables / Schedule:** Key Deliverables SEE SOW for DETAILED CHART 6.0 Travel: One (1) service visit will be provided by the contractor. Visit will be coordinated with the IRMS operator at NLAE.

**7.0 Contractor’s Key Personnel:** Only factory trained, and currently OEM certified engineers are to perform any service procedure on the Delta V Advantage Isotope Ratio Mass spectrometer. Copies of a current certification may be requested prior to service.

**8.0 Security Requirements:** A copy of an official government photo ID (State-issued driver’s license or ID card, passport, green card, etc.) must be upon entrance in to NLAE.

**SUPPORTING INFORMATION 9.0 Place of Performance:** National Laboratory for Agriculture and the Environment, 1015 N University Blvd. Ames, Iowa 50011 10.0 Period of Performance: Service will be completed within 30 days of date of award.

**11.0 Evaluation Factors:** Technical Acceptability, delivery, price with technical acceptability and delivery more important than price.
