## Description

IAW FAR 13.106-1 (b), Pregl Services Inc was determined to be the only contractor capable of upgrading the vacuum furnace at the Forest Products Laboratory. The required justification will be posted separately. The upgrades include:

adding a Nitrogen line to prevent combustable concentrations of Hydrogen from being discharged from the furnace; installing thermocouples for more accurate monitoring of sample temperatures; and control system updates to allow regulation of opperating temperatures over a narrower range.
