THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL/QUOTE OR BID. The Forest Service anticipates issuing a full solicitation at a time when the project site will be unavailable due to seasonal closures/weather. This project will construct a new single lane road bridge across Smiley Creek including connecting road approaches. Construction will consist of 1) installing a new approximately 16’ wide by 60’ long prefabricated steel bridge superstructure set on new treated timber abutments including construction of new abutment riprap armoring material and placement of new aggregate wear surface; 2) constructing new road approaches on either side of the new bridge totaling approximately 300 lineal feet on each side; and 3) performing other miscellaneous improvements as required. The Government does not intend to award a contract(s) based solely on this site visit nor does it intend to pay for any costs incurred in response to this announcement. The intent of this notice is to ensure that prospective vendors may see the areas prior to heavy snowfall and issuing the solicitation. This is not a final solicitation or scope of work.
