The work of this Contract is to decommission/remove 6 existing pit toilets, which are located at different sites across the forest. Pit toilets are simple wooden structures (see attached typical photo) and shall be removed entirely including any footing/leveling blocks, and pit backfilled with surrounding soil restored to natural state. All toilet building structures, attached fixtures shall be salvaged/recycled or disposed to contractor (contractor owned and responsible) and shall be removed off USFS property. Any salvage value shall be considered and credited in project bid. Project work can be done with hand tools and 4x4 pickup trucks/ATV type vehicles. Some roads can require high clearance vehicles. No utility work, or earthwork (other than minor pit backfilling and leveling) is expected for this project.
