THIS IS NOT A REQUEST OF QUOTE Notice # 1158938 This is a special notice prepared in accordance with FAR 5.2 “Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions”. There is no solicitation available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will receive no response. This proposed contract action is published to notify potential sources that the USDA Forest Service, USDA FS-SOUTHERN RESEARCH STATION intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract to LI-COR.

**Estimated Contract Value:** $69,957.00 The USDA Forest Service Eastern Forest Environmental Threat Assessment Center is conducting a long-term study on the effects of prescribed fires on water quantity and quality and carbon in the Piedmont of North Carolina. The purchase of IRGA and Biomet system are essential for monitoring carbon and water fluxes in our long-term study. This will allow for accurate data collection for our study on the effects of prescribed fires on carbon losses. This investment supports the Threat Center's commitment to advancing prescribed fire research and management practices, and natural resource protection. See Attachment
