## Description

The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) intends to award a contract on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1 (b)(1), with Bruker Scientific, Billerica, MA for Bruker LabScape MALDI Biotyper Maintenance Service Agreement for the USDA, APHIS, Wildlife Services (WS) in Ft. Collins, CO. The Bruker LabScape Complete Maintenance Service Agreement is a maintenance service agreement, which provides complete service coverage for the MALDI Biotyper sirius RUO System.

Bruker Scientific, LLC is the only company that can service their instrument otherwise the warranty is voided. The anticipated period of performance is five ordering periods. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is:

811210 with a size standard of $34.0 Million. These services will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with the procedures in FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). The sole source determination is based on Bruker Scientific, LLC having prior work experience with USDA APHIS and currently the only manufacturer that services the existing MALDI Biotyper sirius RUO System. The anticipated total value of the contract is $128,500.00.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
