## Description

The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) intends to award a contract on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1 (b)(1), with Luminex, Austin, TX for the Intelliflex Gold Maintenance and Service Plan265403) instruments for use at the National Wildlife Research Center (NWRC) located in Ft. Collins, CO. The INTELLIFLEX System is the only instrument that meets the Wildlife Disease Diagnostic Laboratories needs/requirements. Luminex (A DiaSorin Company) is the only company that can service their instrument. The anticipated period of performance is four ordering period years. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is:

811210 with a size standard of $34.0 Million. These services will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with the procedures in FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). The sole source determination is based on Luminex having prior work experience with USDA APHIS and currently the only manufacturer that services the existing Intelliflex equipment. The anticipated total value of the contract is $37,422.00.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
