These cameras will be used in the field for digital imaging of museum specimens. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is: 334516 – Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing with a size standard of 1,000 employees. The procurement of the two Macropod Pro 3D Systems are for developing image-based diagnostics of pests, vectors, and other organisms of concern in the size range of 10um-10 cm. with capabilities to generate 3D image models. This imaging system is highly portable (fits in the provided 40L backpack with custom foam interior to stabilize equipment during transport) and the heavy duty tripod and mount for Stackshot Rails offers extreme stability necessary for imaging small insects. The Mituyo M Plan APO Infinity Corrected lenses provided with the system are the industry standard for imaging minute insects. The rotating stage allows for generation of 3D image models generation. These Macropod Pro 3D Systems will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with the procedures in FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures). The sole source determination is based on Macroscopic Solutions being currently the only manufacturer of Macropod Pro 3D Systems. The anticipated total value of the contract is $76,000.00. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
