Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Contractor: American Association for Laboratory Accreditation Description of product/service: Laboratory Testing and Research Accreditation Assessment Services Capability: CDC and ASHRAE guidance recommend ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation by an accrediting body with expertise in environmental Legionella testing. Of the three U.S.-recognized accrediting bodies (A2LA, IAS, and UAF), only A2LA routinely maintains assessors with specialized expertise in environmental Legionella testing. IAS and UAF confirmed they do not routinely provide this capability and recommended A2LA. International providers were determined to be cost prohibitive due to assessor’s travel costs. Therefore, A2LA is the only responsible source capable of meeting the Government’s requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct competitive procurement.
